Former Employee – worked at CAE full-time for more than 10 years

Pros – Extremely interesting and complex product.
Opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience.
Friendly, hard-working people.
Paid overtime.

Cons – CAE's history as a flight simulator manufacturing company still shows in its approach to management and processes. They try to put in place new S/W processes, but project delivery dates still drive priorities. There is a lot of rushing and panic to chase deadlines. Projects get started already behind schedule.
Waves of layoffs over the last few years.

Advice to Senior Management – Better communication and more employee motivation is needed. Employees are uneasy about layoffs, security is disappearing and morale suffers.
