Pros

The pay is pretty good. Auto parts handlers make $15.75 an hr .

Cons

Carquest does not want you to succeed.. At the Chicago DC everyone with over 15 years of seniorty is gone. Good people with years of experience and knowledge....gone. The part timers get treated the worst. Management has no people skills.

Advice to Management

O. Temple Sloan needs to go back to running the company, because his son is ruining what was once a very good company to work for, now its a company to run away from.

    Pros

    - Teams worked well together but not always with each other.
    - Most people cared about their work.
    - A big company with some family element left in it.

    Cons

    - Management cared about management.
    - Good ol' boy club. The Bubba is strong in this one.
    - Compensation and benefits are not good and shrinking every year.

    Advice to Management

    - Management isn't always right. Accept advice from above and below, the people doing their jobs know what they are talking about.
    - Be honest with the employees. Don't tell them you've had a great financial year in one meeting and then deny bonuses and increases a month later.
    - Innovate. Don't copy the competition.

    Pros

I can only find one good reason nowadays to work for CARQUEST and that is flexibility in schedule

    Cons

If you have a premium pay job regardless if you are a man or a woman, then you should be able to perform those premium pay duties. If you cannot perform them, then you should not have that premium pay job.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be aware of the surroundings at all times and know who is performing and who is not
