Pros

Generally, hierarchies aren't too strict and people are friendly. Work can at times be demanding but there's rarely an issue with work-life balance. Self-starters can get ahead in the company but must be demanding and manage themselves very well.

Cons

Cost containment and meager pay increases don't help employee morale. Too much is spent on recruiting agencies and consultants. Advancement and recognition of good work are hard to come by unless you are demanding. Communication from management is often lacking. Benefits are average but nothing special. Conservative culture means no jeans, and the office is generally very quiet.

Advice to Management

Revenue generators (i.e., producers) are obviously very important, but work on communicating with back-office employees as well. They help run the machine. Invest more in them and you will see greater productivity, better morale, and long-term career development and loyalty. Allow the work environment to loosen up a bit.

    Pros

CBRE does offer fairly flexible schedules depending on your team and department. They have a lot of holidays and benefits that are fairly good.

    Cons

CBRE underpays their employees accross the board by about 35% compared to other companies. They have yard games instead of giving employees a raise. Career advancement is minimal at best, unless you know the right people or are related to the right people. It does not matter how hard you work or what you know, if you do not get in with the right group you will not go anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Care a little more about your employees. Underpaying and over working employees is not a positive thing- yard games and pot lucks are not going to pay the bills. it also shows employees that you don't care if you keep them, you just want to save money.

    Advice to Management

If you're happy with an employee's production and feel they are a valuable member of the organization, push them forward.
