Pros

Opportunities to advance are (were) available. While those who "knew" people or played the gamed were promoted more quickly, you could still advance on your merits. Flexible with time off and there are opportunities for overtime in most departments.

Cons

-Reviews: Annual Reviews have been delayed every year for the past few years and finally retro raises were not given. This saved CCS how much money? While I'm sure this happens in many places of employment, reviews are meaningless. You will be praised all year long but when reviews come out, you're lucky if you are barely above average. HR will kick back reviews that are too good and most in management do not keep detailed records to support an excellent review. Your narrative may make it seem like you're the best thing since sliced bread, but the actual number (and raise) will tell a different story.
-Corporate move: Give people credit. Allison wouldn't become CEO until the decision to move corporate to Dallas was made. Sure it makes good business sense, but don't make it seem like his preference had nothing to do with the move! Communication regarding corporate move to Dallas is guarded and a bit sneaky. Clearwater and other locations' days are likely numbered. Wouldn't you get tax breaks for also moving Operations and other departments to Dallas?
-Layoffs: Some recent layoffs were unexpected and there are probably more to come. On the one hand they tell the employees how well CCS is doing, but on the other hand lay off many good employees who had been there awhile and had a lot to offer while letting the slackers stay on continue to be a drain on company morale. People don't work as well when they are in fear of losing their jobs, regardless of performance. This is something corporate HR in Dallas should understand.
-Employee Recognition: None except for recognition by your immediate management, and only in some departments.
-Trust: In many cases, senior leadership does not trust or respect the opinion of the management reporting to them. Most of your people were promoted for a reason, or else why are they your management?

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with people about what is going on with the company. It's not fair to let people fear for their employment constantly. In this economic climate, people need to be aware of their options.
Stop making stupid process changes that don't work and then not admitting the failure, even though it has an extreme detrimental affect to both the departments affected and company as a whole. Man up!

I have been working at CCS Medical

    Pros

There used to be many good reasons to work at CCS Medical. The pay was good, management cared about the employees and our patients, there was room for growth within the company, good benefits, etc.

    Cons

The opposite of the Pros happened. Now the only thing cared about is the bottom line. The almighty dollar. Even our plants in the office got taken away and cafeteria food prices went up. There have been recent layoffs and probably more coming even though management denies it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It doesn't matter what is said to leadership. They will still do what they are going to do. It would just be nice if they would be honest and that's something we haven't seen there in a long time.

I have been working at CCS Medical

    Pros

Overall it's a simple job. Follow the rules and regulations set down by the insurance companies while still trying to make a profit and keep patients happy. A lot of caring people. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Accumulated PTO.

    Cons

Limited internal employee assistance. No programs for additional schooling and unless your 'hand selected' by a member of upper management or the training department your on your own personally learning additional skills.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More recent updates as to the direction of the business and expectations of how the company will continue forward in the future.
