I have been working at CDC full-time for more than a year

Pros

Family/work life balance, and easy commute to work. Especially if you ever get a chance to telework. There is a laid back atmosphere at my office location, everyone is very friendly and seems to want to help each other accomplish their goals. The atmosphere at CDC reminds me of my college days, there are a number of meetings and the management seems to be very enthusiastic about training and providing the best education and opportunities to employees.

Cons

None that I am aware.

A lot of opportunities to meet and greet professionals. Many healthcare professionals come to the CDC for conferences and meetings, thus great networking opportunities.
    Relaxing

    Cons

Depends on what you do, work can get synonymous.
The system is somewhat bureaucratic, as of most government jobs.
