    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less on degrees and more on whether a person can perform the job and get along with coworkers.

Great learning, networking and work environment but managers need training and contractors are people too!

I worked at CDC full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

CDC is the number one Disease Control federal agency in the world. I enjoyed working alongside numerous professionals from various disciplines. There is a close knit community of professionals and the opportunity to network with people from all over the world

    Cons

If you are a contractor, especially with ORISE, you have no benefits (well, just health benefits) and CDC employees often look down on contractors. In general, senior leadership in the labs like most places can be lacking in management skills.
