so focused on toeing the line, pinching pennies, that they've engineered out loyalty and innovation.

I have been working at CDI

Pros

people are very nice, competent. good at balancing workloads. job security, sort of.

Cons

the pay is not to market. way too focused on numbers, keeping employees on a tight leash. not so great at checking in with folks.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

give employees what they're worth, don't be so focused on toeing the line that you engineer out loyalty and innovation.

    Pros

Adequate pay and decent benefits. Good place to work when you're not sure what you really want to do.

    Cons

Really awful vacation and sick time policies. 5 days of vacation time in your first year of employment, but you accrue it as you work. If you work the full year from Jan 1 to Dec 31, you will have your full 5 days on Dec 31 at 11:59pm. After that, your vacation time resets to zero. Sick time is similar but worse, because there's less of it. You *are not allowed* to get sick before you've accrued your first day of sick time, sometime in Feb or Mar.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix your PTO and sick time policies. Ridiculous. Also, health insurance for families is too expensive.

    I worked at CDI

    Pros

Co-workers were great to work with and really tried to make the team work, even with the low morale and pretty much being left on our own to figure things out.

    Cons

Sr. Management was horrible, the worst I'd ever encountered in all my years in the industry. Direct management in the office was good, and did the best possible while managing a huge area/territory. Sr. management was the worst, managed by yelling and screaming at people, always second guessing your work, always looking for a reason for you to fail. No support or real guidance from the sr. leadership at this company at all. Just lecutres on why the workers "sucked" (yes, they used this word to describe us over and over again) and why everyone should be fired. Staff meetings were just excuses for sr. manager to tell the recruiters and sales people that they weren't meeting their quotas and all should be fired. Very motivating to sit through that once a month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management by threats and intimidation is not the way to lead and motivate your staff. Lead by example.
