I have been working at CDS Global full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Business casual attire, decent benefits, Small onsite fitness center, onsite classes to help employees improve skills

Cons

Magazine fulfillment is a not a growing industry. Publishers are going digital, and CDS does not have the technology to keep up. CDS has had significant layoffs in the last 2 years - at least 30% of their US workforce, and they closed a processing site in Red Oak. Employees are discouraged and confused by the constant restructuring and fearful of additional downsizing. Longtime CEO's and VP's have all "retired" in the last 5 years. There is a revolving door of upper management that stays 1 year or less. Many are offsite, and they do not appear to know, or care how the employees make the company function.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

No matter how great, or improved, or innovative your product is, you still need competent employees to make it work.

    Pros

Leadership's response to employee dissatisfaction is jean's days until the end of the year and treat days for everyone. There are good benefits.

    Cons

Seems like layoffs are taking place monthly. IT gets its direction for product management and product management has had very high turnover and a lack of qualified leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would try to bring back some of the executives that were running the company when it was strong. A balance of new ideas with executives who employees trusted and viewed as having integrity might slow down turnover and help create a more positive atmosphere.

The job itself is not the best, but Management is fantastic

    Pros

The pay is great for a part-time job. Hours are flexible, and at certain times in the year you can make changes to your schedule. Expectations are great. My supervisors are great, and understanding!!!

    Cons

The con's wouldn't be toward CDS, the job itself isn't the greatest. Sitting on the phone for hours on end dealing with cranky people. I have no negative info at this time towards the company.
