Great place to start your career as you have a lot of responsibility and can interact with the CEO and CFO during meetings. You are made the owner of an initiative and you drive it till the end. So a good end to end experience

    Pros

    The pay is decent and most employees are friendly. They also offer some fringe benefits like an annual fitness stipend and a workout room if you would rather do so on-site. They offer tuition assistance, but most of it is taxed at your income rate and they are very inflexible on programs outside your current positions area of focus. The occasional paid team outing is also nice, but it doesn't happen near as often as it used to before the new CEO.

    Cons

    There is a constant feeling of fear, regret, and general dread. No one is willing to stick their necks out for other employees for fear of being fired.

    Advice to Management

    No one is happy. Everyone is looking for another job. How can you fire 1/3 of the company (Red Oak Operations site) and still not give raises in the same year? Did that money go straight to profits for Hearst? Why did you hire so many of these upper management cronies? They consistently describe that they move to other companies within a year or two and yet we pay them ridiculous amounts of money for what? I have seen no results for all of their fast talking and business jargon. Most join the company for the free ride and then leave in a year. Well played. Injecting new business phrases into presentations does not make you look smart, we can tell when you don't know what you're talking about.

    Pros

    The people make the company a really good company to work for. Customer service: the company does an excellent job in taking care of its customers and very collaborative in helping its customers solve their problems. Benefits package are excellent.

    Cons

    Revolving door at mid-management and senior management. Technology: way behind the industry leaders in basic technological advancements.

    Advice to Management

    Spin off from Hearst Corporation to unlock the company's true potential.
