I worked at CEB full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Great place to learn about a lot of industries; Great model; Very smart, driven employees and leaders; Content wasn't always great but when it was, it really was outstanding stuff

Cons

Generally poor managers; Sales success hid model and content flaws for a long time; Downturn hid the poor performance of some senior leaders; Not sure this senior team can take CEB to $1B in revenue

I worked at CEB full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Most of the employees
    Location
Some of the staff were young and energized to make the effort.

    Cons

Get rid of 80% of the management team. They are incompetent and wouldn't have the position in any other firm. They only got their job by kissing the correct tail. Some of them have no business being in their positions the way they walk all over everyone. Lazy and lack basic common sense and social skills to be able to associate with people of all levels. They have either let go or lost great employees for ridiculous reasons.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people, try to be fair to everyone, not just those who kiss up.
Get rid of senior management and start over. Some have no business being in their current seats.
Don't interfere when something is 90% complete when they have no idea what's going on. It makes management look incompetent and unintelligent when they management complains when it isn't necessary or the situation has been resolved.
