I have been working at CEB full-time (more than a year)

Pros

CEB has a great culture with a lot of young people. You get exposure to the C-suite of Fortune 500 companies and learn a lot about whichever practice you are in.

Cons

management can be frustrating at times and can be overly focused on numbers. The pay is also not great and you often get the sense that they feel AMx's and BDx's can be easily replaced.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are a lot of young people at this company who are not sure what they want to do. Rather than forcing them into sales, take time to see what their aspirations are and help them get there. Then, they'll be more motivated to work hard for you.

    Pros

    -Really smart, talented coworkers.
-High quality research and products - our insights are second to none.
-Long-term career path and room to grow if you're willing to stick it out and if you're any good at your job. We set a high bar and don't apologize for it!
-High degree of independence in your work.

    Cons

-Internal politics can be tricky to manage until you learn the ropes.
-Work-life balance is great at some times of the year, lacking during others.
-Company is making efforts to innovate its product suite, but isn't there yet.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to make big bets and invest heavily in them; we invest partway in too many things. Fewer, bigger bets are riskier, but generate the best returns when they work.

I worked at CEB full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

the product is very insightful, and you will work with some of the smartest people (research not sales)-- so there is an opportunity to learn alot
people that are part of the click - even if they arent performing stay for a while- so good tenured people
    building is metro accessible
classroom training is good but isnt really relevant to the job- and the managers that do on the job training are not helpful or supportive

    Cons

    expensive to park in building
very clicky caddy culture- people talk alot behind each others backs- not very supportive team- in fact the only thing that resembles a team is that you sell the same product-- people are out to get each other
managers are not supportive- very little help with learning- they treat you like you are 5
it takes ALOT longer to get promoted than they say... ALOT longer-- be prepared to wait
tedious work- same thing every day- alot of COLD calling- they count dials and post them up
culture is terrible- you dont even get to practice closing deals until you are there for what seems like forever -- even if you have been in a position where you have closed before
    recruiting lies about future path

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

be more honest in interview about what to expect. set realistic goals with employees- dont butter them up to what they want to hear- dont be so clicky
