I have been working at CGI Group

Pros

Good people to work with. The commute isn't too bad for the region although it would be more of an attraction if it were closer to metro. The continued goal of trying to fit more people to work in the offices without expanding services & considering parking is short-sighted.

Cons

The budget is the most important consideration in decisions resulting in services to employees less than what they could be. The continued focus of distributing the back-office staffing to scattered offices where the pay is less results in a decrease in a feeling of teamwork and continuity.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider a mindset of investing in employees rather than a strict bottom-line. If you continue to insist on paying the least possible for employees, you cannot attract or retain a higher level of talent.

I have been working at CGI Group full-time

    Pros

    Great opportunities for advancement.
    Great networking opportunities.

    Cons

Compensation is considerably less than market average in almost every role.
Tools for employees are antiquated, cumbersome, and not user friendly.
Ideas for improvement of tools, systems, processes, and even training are ignored.
There are too many executive middle managers and too few of the people who actually do the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest more in the regular worker and thin out the VP ranks. Be more proactive in your approach to issues/problems instead of waiting for the fire to start before attempting to put it out. Build tools for your employees that actually improve their day to day work instead of hindering it.
