I have been working at CGI full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Easy to work from home
    Good dental insurance
Free soda on the 4th floor

    Cons

Career growth is non-existent; forget about working your way up; if you're not from the outside, you'll spend 5 years without getting a promotion
No bonuses; just profit-sharing which management takes the vast majority of and leaves nothing but scraps for the little people
Company has consistently gotten cheaper; first benefits, now people don't even have cubes
Management seeks to isolate itself from the peons
Long hours with no overtime; comp time is capped and flex time can't be used realistically
    Raises are pathetic
Hiring standards have gotten worse; they'll hire anyone

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop isolating yourself from your employees and take action; the longer you do nothing, the harder it'll be fix things once they've finally broken

CEO too busy acquiring new business, forgetting about the existing workers

I have been working at CGI full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    Pays on time.
    Direct Deposit.
Can be a decent place to work if you are part of the in crowd.
Some offices are well managed (some are not).
Provides required software and hardware to get the job done.
Performs a thorough criminal, drug, professional and educational background check on US and Canadian citizens, however, no such check done for individuals raised in other countries. So, an American with a 1.5 GPA cannot lie about it. However, a guy who failed Computer Science 5 times in India can easily hide it.

    Cons

I worked on several projects. A few of them were great, had qualified people. A few were unbearable, loaded with lazy people who all claim to be management. The managers who have been working for a long time have their own closed circle and they are only concerned about keeping their jobs alive. They are not looking out for the company's best interest. Every year, they promote each other only. Too much internal politics. You have to be a part of the in crowd to have a decent work condition. CEO is too busy acquiring other companies, not focusing on improving lives of workers already on board. Got no raises. Had to stay up many nights to finish the work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What goes around comes around. Take care of the regular consultants.
