I worked at CGI full-time (more than an year)

Pros

Nice company for start ups those are from college directly.

Cons

If your manager wants to replace you due to discrimination , then they will ask you for resignation. If you don't, then they will send you to special program and they will make sure you will fail it, eventually they will terminate you in 30 days. So when you asked to resign, then just resign. Do not fight with any one.
You should be ready any time to get another job. They advertise that they do not have any lay-offs in order to get good share price. But they will terminate you silently with out any severance. You should have more time, money and other resources to go to a law suit.
Please do not join if you have experience of 5+ years. and be ready for all those things said above.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please investigate the thoroughly when some one sent to special program. It may be due to racism discrimination and do justice to the particular employee.

Success and job satisfaction will depend on the project and the values of the management team you work with..

    Pros

Benefits are good and include profit sharing. Depending on your work experience and education level you may be able to get 3 weeks of vacation. Benefits began on the first day of employment. Onboarding process through HR is very good.

    Cons

Work/life balance will depend on the project that you are on. If you are on the wrong project then the average working hours are from 60-80 hours a week, including weekend and holidays. The turnover rate is very high due to burnout and overall work conflicts (i.e unfriendly office culture, low morale...). Considerable rework and chaos. Lack of communication with other areas that have a direct impact on the application being built. The company rarely has layoffs and it was indicated there are many projects to move to, I personally have not seen a variety of different projects to move to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put into practice the mission and values of the overall company. Hire managers and designate those who have the appropriate background and knowledge. Remember Members have lives outside of CGI. Make sure job postings clearly state that the work week will be more than 40 hours to include Holidays and weekends and will require frequent visits to the client site.

    Pros

Momentum program is stable and pays the bills. Not a overly competitive environment. Depending on project, could work with some great people.

    Cons

Team members are divided into Functional and Technical. If you are Technical, you're advancement opportunities are more limited as the functional team gets more exposure to clients, meetings, other teams. Some team members not very creative and expect to be told exactly how to do something. Those are the ones that just show up to get a paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire good all around people. That is, people who could learn the functionality of the application and have technical skills.
