Pros

401k and Stock Plan are not bad. Medical is decent. If you are comfortable with not knowing what you're doing and jumping into a new project there's plenty of room to grow.

Cons

Management does not have morale as one of the things they should be interested in. EG: PMs will repeatedly agree to client wishes/changes without understanding the change or impact on personnel and timelines; then expect the 'slack' to get picked up out of thin air. The only reason projects succeed is due to near heroic efforts of some to get the job done. Turnover is also high for the same reason. Many contracts (new bid and incumbent bid) were lost due to new HUGE overhead costs that are baked into proposals.

Advice to Management

At some point you'll have to start listening to the folks that have been telling you for 3 years now since you bought into the defense business with the Stanley acquisition. We're getting underbid and overworked constantly. You're lucky you still have some the people you do.

    Pros

Great esprit de corp, great people and a true structure to entrepreneurship that is proven

    Cons

This review is focused at the US arm: When they acquired AMS, they kept the management team in place. That group had so many poor managers at VP level, it's a wonder that CGI didn't get sued on a weekly basis for labor relations issues. Even worse, the VP of HR out of Atlanta was an active enabler of most of it, so folks truly had no where to turn. The AMS veterans promoted a system of keeping their fellow vets at senior positions, even though they either grossly under performed, had horrible ethics, or both. It seems they've brought them under thumb a bit, but after so many tremendously talented people were victimized and were forced out.

    Advice to Management

Continue to purge the AMS folks

    Pros

The company is growing and increasing its market share, which brings opportunity and options for its employees.

    Cons

Working in Charleston, WV isn't the greatest location to be a consultant.
