I worked at CGI full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

2% share scheme (Pref A = no dividend and no right to vote) matched by company, which is ok if the value only ever goes up.
Still have good benefits package as a hangover from Logica (they will probably change this soon)

Cons

Projects and sites out in the woods (like 6 miles from the train station in Milton Keynes!)
American management BS in spades.
No one really seems to care about anything.
The CGI people who have been there for a while seem to think this is normal.

Ex-Logica employee who became a CGI employee following 2012 takeover.

I worked at CGI full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Mostly stuff carried over from Logica like good benefits package, good people (although many now gone...) and working from home flexibility is useful sometimes (although you lose a sense of team camaraderie if you overdo it).

    Cons

The CGI intranet and tools (e.g. timesheets, expenses, PM reporting) is onerous indeed. It was frustrating to find myself spending more time on clerical and administrative tasks than real value-adding work for our clients. Following the takeover, many excellent and longstanding Logica colleagues were eventually made redundant, regardless of how vital and valuable they currently were to their projects. The constant force feeding of the CGI 'dream' and being 'members' soon became monotonous. People seem a lot more overworked and stressed than prior to the takeover. Too much responsibility, workload and pressure is put on the PM and not enough on senior staff including the programme/delivery managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Intranet including internal tools and processes (particularly PM ones) are too complex and time consuming. Need to simply these things to free up staff to spend more of their time and attention on real value-adding work for your clients.
