Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at CGI full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Nice people to work with especially college graduates, flexible hours and easy to take off.

Cons

There are good opportunities to work on different client projects, however f you are trying to move up in the company, forget it. Promotions are only for management favorites and management themselves. The salary and annual increases are not competitive as they should be aligned with the industry. Poor execution of talent and projects and turn over rate is slowly rising

Advice to Management

None because they will not listen

I worked at CGI full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very good employee stock purchase plan - 3% of my salary matched by CGI with immediate 100% vesting. Interesting projects to work on.

    Cons

Low annual pay increases - had a 4% total salary increase for the entire last 5 years I was there. Over that same time employees' health insurance costs doubled while CGI's contribution only increased about 50%. Increasing corporate oversight on costs even when organization-wide systems such as audio/web conferencing system selection ignored the time costs for consultants and clients. Established corporate methodology not always followed. Training was pretty scarce - difficult to stay current with the profession as a SME when unable to attend professional organization conferences.

    Advice to Management

Do a REAL cost/benefit analysis on the corporate travel organization. It is almost always possible to save project expenses by making arrangements directly with the providers rather than through the corporate site.
