Pros

Small company, a ton of exposure to higher ups. Lot of training courses available. Good place to begin your career in consulting

Cons

Not very well organized. Easy access to higher ups but people are always in and out of the office..

    Pros

Consulting environment-you get to see a bigger picture.
Working for CAT as a client is definitely a great opportunity.

    Cons

Horrible Leadership-They don't care about growth of the company or development of their employees. Every other month, people leave CGN.
Terrible Work Culture- Senior leaderships like to dictate or abuse their Juniors. Executive abuse Sr. Managers, Sr. Managers abuse Managers and soforth. I have never experienced such a horrible work culture. Even in terms of diversity you will find 75% Indians. There are so called "Relatives of CEO" who abuse the power like anything.
CAT is the only client. So working for CGN limits you to one industry and one client. The experience of consulting is diluted by becoming a rather outsourcing company for CAT.

There are a lot of smart people at CGN but mismanaged by the management. All in all I would say NO to CGN.

    Advice to Management

I am surprised how leaders ignore attrition and the growth of the company. Its been like this for years. ..!!!

Salaries and incentives are not reviewed in a systematic manner, very low pay scale.

    Pros

Most CGN projects are with Caterpillar Inc.
Get a very basic introduction to the consulting work culture.
CGN provides the opportunity to work in different departments within Caterpillar.

    Cons

    Promotions and bonus' are rare.
Company has a very in competitive work environment.
Caterpillar cannot hire CGN employees since CGN gets their new employees to sign an agreement with them, preventing them from moving to Caterpillar.

    Advice to Management

Company is Top Management Heavy, they need to hire people that can actually do the work on the ground, and need a much stronger marketing team.
