Current Employee - Store Manager
Current Employee - Store Manager

I have been working at CJ Banks

Pros

Wonderful customers. 40 hour workweek

Cons

Low compensation. Having to run a store on as little as 105 hours. Too much single coverage. No breaks due to single coverage. Often being forced to cut hours on Saturday

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't micromanage schedules. Everyone has a life outside of work. Schedules can be managed from store level. Quality employees leave when a company won't work with family life scheduling. Requiring management to only take sunday, wednesday & Thursday off is not fllexable enough. Life happens. We don't need to sacrifice to have a well run business

Former Employee - Assistant Manager in Watertown, NY

I worked at CJ Banks part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Quiet atmosphere, older customers, no overnight shifts

    Cons

Low pay, no benefits, rare to give anyone a raise, no bonuses. District and above does not listen to their employees including store managers for advice. The products are very dated and their e-mail system is severely outdated and takes a very long time to load. Most management pass the buck off to the next person coming in and the company has ridiculous demands for signing up customers for "fashion shows". Also be prepared to harrass people over the phone doing cold calls - spamming ads!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Update your product line and how you're handling business as a whole or you're going to be completely bankrupt within 4 years or less.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
