It was eh

Accountant (Former Employee)
Chicago, IL

I worked at CNA full-time for more than 3 years

ProsEasy and convenient to get to. Pay and benefits are on par for industry and job requirements.

ConsEverything else. First job out of college and it was what I thought it would be. There's all this talk about growing but I don't see it. 9 out of 10 times you'll have staff that are more qualified than management. If you can fly under the radar you can survive here with the basic education/experience requirements. Most companies have policies against couples in the office. Here its almost encouraged. Lots of people from out of state versus local scene. It's all unique.

Advice to Senior ManagementShake up management from the core-down.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Accountant and later Internal Auditor

Accountant/Internal Auditor (Former Employee)
Chicago, IL

I worked at CNA full-time for more than 5 years

Pros: - CNA Insurance has established (2008-2010) very hi-tech database system that allows one to drill down data… Cons: - Pay is bad (both salary and commission) - No appreciation - Surveillance on your PC 24/7 - One person does two persons job. Don't pay for overtime -… Advice to Senior Management: - Appreciate employees; value talent. No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
