CNA Surety – “Decent pay, poor family flexibility”
Pros
Decent pay, great benefits, especially retirement, cheap health insurance, fun coworkers.
Cons
Very stressful and poor flexibility. Occurrence policy is unrealistic for those with families. No job share or part time schedule options. Business core hours fairly fixed = inflexible. A lot of favoritism and projects given to the chosen few, leaving promotion difficult to attain among the rest. Each manger is allocated a pool of funds for merit increases to use at their discretion so it's not uniform among the department, varies based on manager.
Advice to Senior Management
Enforce the dress policy as intended across the building. Some departments have higher expectations than others, depending on your manager. Stop allocating busy work to the same people, at least spread it out among the team. Offer fair compensation based on measurable attributes and not at the whim of the managers.
