COMSYS IT Partners – “An enjoyable place to work

COMSYS IT Partners Director in San Francisco, CA:   (Past Employee - 2006)

Pros

The compensation is good if you are a producer. As a sales person, you have the opportunity to sell up to the Director and Vice President level which can be very helpful to your career. You also get a lot of exposure to many different verticals. Comsys is probably strongest staffing for hi-tech clients. There is also an opportunity to grow into a management role where you can manage people, P&L, operations, etc. If you enjoy the staffing and recruiting industry, then Comsys is a good company to work for, which is located around the US, so there is also opportunity to move locations if needed.

Cons

The business space of staff augmentation is becoming more and more competitive. It is very difficult to have direct client relationships anymore. Too much of staff augmentation is now done through vendor management systems which takes away from the enjoyment of serving clients directly. There is not much career training within Comsys, so much of the knowledge you will gain is through on the job experience. Often times it seems that the leadership team makes decisions which are not driven by data. The only other down side is that you will only get a chance to sell staff augmentation. Comsys tries to sell project services, but it is really just staff augmentation teams. You will never get exposure to selling turn-key projects.

Advice to Senior Management

Offer more training to the internal staff.
