I have been working at CSAA Insurance Group as a contractor for more than 10 years

Pros

I HAVE NONE>>> the CONS out way any possible PRO

Cons

YOU DO NOT have a PICK OF 24 hours,

because you need to work up your matrix (score card) to have access of the 24 hour pick,....so those who are brand new start from the bottom and your left with the bad hours that are not paid by the hour!

In addition, they start paying by the hour at 12am not 9 am which they had advertised when I was interested.

They are constantly changing protocol, and send you any where from 2-6 emails a day and will call your home phone any where from 1-5 times a day for you to work, they will even call on Sunday.....its an automated message asking you to post hours...

YEs they do have plenty of hours, because they have plenty of customers...but you really wont be talking to 15 or 20 people in an hour.......you know why.... because people will call you and they wont even know where the heck they are...so you have to wait as they try to figure out where they are.......

THE worst part is that the like to drive it in to you after you paid a large amount of money....that you are responsible for these people lives.....and if you dont take the appropriate actions someone can get hurt....(and of course they will fire you, if something does happened on your part)

Your not allowed to take a break in between your calls so if your working 3-6 hours straight, you better make sure you use the bathroom first.....of course you can pause your phone and go use it for an emergency....BUT it will effect your score card which makes you eligible to pick the best hours to work before other do....

My class started with about 70 only half passed........

They do not prepare you enough to past the actual test. I had 3 practice rounds with the teacher before I had to take a live call, and if you did not take the call correctly you did not pass ,...

The Class is long for no reason.

    Pros

    AAA NCNU IE has good benefits. The defined benefit pension plan and 401k are nice to have. AAA encourages and pays for employees to volunteer outside the office. Great brand recognition.

    Cons

    AAA rewards dinosaurs by not requiring that they keep up on information or tech. The average career tenure is HIGH, but some would rather use pencil, ncr triplicate, fax and typewriters rather than learn to how edit a .pdf document. Efficiency is not valued over employee longevity. Old dogs won't learn new tricks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Forget tenure. Look at intelligence and ability, not the fact that you currently reward dinosaurs collecting dust. They are not increasing the value or brand. Stop promoting up if they don't have the skill set. Secretary's should know what should be capitalized and what should not. Require mandatory minimum skill sets to be an industry leader.
