Ok place to work if you don't mind continuous organizational changes. AAA needs to find an identity and stick to it.

Pros

Good benefits and over all a good company to work for.

Cons

Too many recent layoffs and organizational changes. Also way too many outside consultants, seems like if you want people who truly care about the company they should actually work for the company and not be from the outside.

    Pros

Ability to make friends and learn about many different business disciplines that provide skills that can be used in other businesses. The insurance and claims functions are to its reputation.

    Cons

Too many changes too often. Hard to know who does what. Younger people considered 'better' than those with life experience who paid their dues. The family feel that made them successul is gone and the culture is not what it should be to make the company grow. Employees are afraid for their jobs because of unreasonable goal expectations. Layoffs are too frequent and those let go are good people with lots to offer. Too much money wasted on system efforts that don't ever get implemented and executive salaries are way out of line compared to the low level salaries given to front line employees who represent the company to the public.

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror at you own 'values' and how you hold up your end of the bargain. You do not live the values you expect all other employees to live by and be graded on.

    Pros

    - ability to practice work/life balance (many people have dedicated telecommute days) - office amenities (new office includes cafeteria, remodeled cube spaces, gym area) - tenured staff means evidence of a worthwhile place to establish a career and move within the company - compensation (at market rate) and benefits package (generous PTO, holidays)

    Cons

    - each department/group is driven by the management style of its executive. this can cause "micro-cultures" - legacy tools and systems require overhaul - overall, sparse number of "savvy" individuals who can help innovate and share best practices for what is current in the industry - "too many cooks in the kitchen" - many people have authority but lacking one consistent voice or one person to trump others and provide direction for action. - highly political environment at the expense of progress - meeting fatigue

    Advice to Management

executives should be evaluated on a 360 feedback - not only by direct reports but for all of those staff who report into an executive's division. many people are suffering from meeting fatigue because there is not one consistent voice to translate strategic efforts into tactical plans. too many peers and everyone's input must be weighed equally and thoughtfully - causing delays in actual progress to have the company change the course of business.
