CSC – “A good place to grow in early/mid career- very stable.”
Pros
Stable contracts and opportunities to try new things. Managers were always open to employees shifting contracts within the company to build skills and experiance. Formal training was harder to get. Pay is good for early/mid career but is not competitive for higher level skillsets. PMs were (generally) trained and supported to manage relationships with customers very proffesionally. This protects technical employees from most of the craziness that can happen on a bad contract. Most managers were very supportive of work/life balance issues.
Cons
HR is almost useless for EEO issues. Their only purpose is to provide plausible deniability. They are not interested in dialog to straighten out problems and educate the offender. They will simply move the complainer to other work and let the offender continue unabated.
Advice to Senior Management
EEO issues are not over in the workplace, just because everyone seems so nice. They still happen and they need to be dealt with straight one. Also, CSC needs to work on payscales for senior technical expertise. Otherwise, they will find themselves out of the market in Cybersecurity.
