Pros

It all depends on the group. My group is great, I've heard less enthusiastic details from others. Pay may be a little low but I'm not certain.

Cons

Moving up is hard, pay may be low, some of management is complacent and aged (my group is not though).

Advice to Senior Management

Keep the smart people moving up, get rid of old, dead, dumb weight. Start giving bonuses! Even if only very small, it will help morale.
