CSC – “Look out for offshoring.”

Pros

Numerous client and career development opportunities given proper timing and some amount of luck. Pay seems to be at or above average. Access to leading technologies.

Cons

Offshoring! Significant shift of work from onshore in the US to India. Many have been and are being laid off due to offshoring to India and there's a lack of onshore opportunities to transfer to. Feedback from multiple CSC-India staff is that they don't respect the management over there. CSC says they value their employees. However, there's a general lack of concern and support to help transition people to new jobs within the company when their current job is being offshored/eliminated.

Advice to Senior Management

Be more honest with employees on outsourcing engagements regarding the plans for the account.
