I have been working at CSI (Computer Systems Institute) as a contractor (more than a year)

Pros

It's great teaching students the use of computers. For a year, I taught students how to use Microsoft applications to prepare them for the certification exam. I surprising found this rewarding.

Cons

The instruction material was confusing at times.

The administration wanted results at the cost of the student. For example, instructor left the company in the first week. They brought in another guy who didn't instruct the students. By the third week, they wanted grades and a lot of the students got failing grades because they didn't receive proper classroom instructions. Can't have a failing class right? So, I was told to fix the grades.

The administration doesn't really appreciate the work the instructors put into classroom preparation and delivering quality instruction.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

They need more integrity. They also need to treat their staff with more respect.

I worked at CSI (Computer Systems Institute) full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

What they want to do is good and honorable and would benefit everyone if consideration is paid to all involved and that includes staff and faculty. They have good intentions. They had great staff there 4 years ago.

    Cons

Weed out students who will not be able to complete the course. Don't expect teachers to work miracles. Management people were not working with staff but were antagonizing them at every turn. A happy employee is a good one. Listen when employees come to you with issues and work with them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be so quick to listen to students who only want to cause trouble. Treat your staff as if they were valuable and they will be loyal.

I worked at CSI (Computer Systems Institute) part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy work - no need to try to actually teach anything since most students seem to be there for the stipends.

    Cons

Admissions office would let in students who could barely read and write and tell them they'd get high-paying jobs once (if) they "graduated". Inept management with high turnover. This is not an accredited school or at least it was not .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Leave town. Now.
