I worked at CSU Stanislaus full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Easy for a Student Assistant to get a good full-time job. Once you're hired, you're pretty much golden. Good pay and benefits. Fee waiver for employees and families, with time off for class.

Cons

Some people have been there forever and obviously don't like it. The students can be difficult sometimes. Have to pay for parking.

    Pros

Great benefits, including the ability to take classes for free.

    Cons

Compensation is meager unless you're upper management. There's a lot of "that's outside my job qualification" that goes on.

    Pros

Great for full time students. Easy to get to while on campus for classes. Works around school schedule. Staff is friendly . Lots of interaction with students on campus. Working on campus helps keep you up to date on what is happening on campus.

    Cons

Dealing with upset students and staff can before tiring. Some staff members believe since then have worked there for a long time that they can make the students do whatever they want. Limited to 20 hours a week if you are a full time student.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Deal with tension in the workplace quickly before it turns into a bigger problem.
