I worked at CVS Caremark

Pros

Flexible schedule if you go to school/ Meet new people/
30% discount on nonsale items
A good company to start but dont stay there

Cons

Management tries to avoid putting you fulltime even if you are working the hours. 32+ you are eligible for full time benefits.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize your employers for the work they do. It felt like the harder people work the more management depended on you to pick everyone else slacks. the same with schedules the harder you work the worst shift you got including weekends cause its the busiest and since you work hard the slacker gets it off.

Corporate refused to give a raise to an employee who changed positions, even though pay was below position standards.

    I worked at CVS Caremark

    Pros

30% discount on CVS brand items, 20% discount on most other items. Cheap perscriptions if you have the health plan.

    Cons

Corporate cuts hours drastically, store has to operate on skeliton staffing. Very stingy about raises, even when someone is promoted from cashier to a supervisor, where the pay difference should be about $3+/hr, corporate will only give max 5%.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store-level management is good. District & regional management are touch-and-go, and expect things that are not condusive to a smooth workflow. (e.g. 2-3 staff at night inc. supervisor, store needs faced, cashier usually has to do a lot of the facing. however the cashier is told to never leave the register. but if they dont they will get in trouble for not cleaning up the store.)

I have been working at CVS Caremark

    Pros

Some of the pharmacists were a treat to know and learn from. Some of the patients were very nice to work with and greatful.

    Cons

Company only cares about bottom line. In 5 years working there my work day has increasingly become simililar to a sales job rather than customer safety and satisfaction. The amount of different "numbers" to hit for advertising CVS is ridiculous.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Programs should be offered not forced. Get back to worrying about customers need and not how many prescriptions you can sell
