Current Employee - Customer Service Representative Supervisor  in  Pittsburgh, PA
Current Employee - Customer Service Representative Supervisor in Pittsburgh, PA

Pros

There is no solid reason to enjoy working as a CSR in the company. Co-workers are nice and you can build friendships, however this applies just about anywhere.

Cons

Do the job of a pharmacist, get paid minimum wage. Rewards programs are constantly modified to ensure employees cannot get raises. There is mandatory promotions without pay raises or compensation, just additional responsibility. lack of training for a very high stress job where you in control of very serious medications for very sick people.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allowing employees who work hard the "reward" to wear jeans... in a call center, is disrespectful and has no place in a professional work environment. Employees do not want to hear that the company is making 75 billion dollars a year when they are also on welfare because they are not paid enough to survive with this job.

Current Employee - Pharmacist Team Leader/25 Years  in  Akron, OH
Current Employee - Pharmacist Team Leader/25 Years in Akron, OH

    Pros

leader in the industry, cutting edge tech, buying everything in its path...great for the stock...in the short term

    Cons

use technology more as a weapon-against their employees-than as a tool-to benefit their employees. To many initiatives, not enough support....results in poor customer service and stressed out -burned out employees and tech support/pharmacist/store managers. With the addition of caremark the result was a redirection of data initiated work load increases without proper/safe pharmacy support workload planning...a metric driven domineering middle management team...that demands number results...what ever happened to our work environment? Look out current pharmacy students...before signing any contracts...this company is for the young, strong, and naive..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

humans before numbers/customer safety before numbers/numbers are a must with huge company but you can not compromise workplace environment long term and expect to retain highly educated professionals in a highly in demand job market....i've seen this attitude before....the result isn't far away....just look at the end result of the one time fading leader....Rite Aid.

Former Employee - Certified Pharmacy Technician  in  Los Angeles, CA
Former Employee - Certified Pharmacy Technician in Los Angeles, CA

    Pros

Get a check in the mail. Get pharmaceutical experience. Great coworkers.

    Cons

Low wages, disorganized. Leadership structure is far too fluid. CVS's rapid expansion has led to a decline in effectiveness, efficiency and customer service. High customer dissatisfaction rates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more consistent. Encourage upward mobility. Reward excellence with better pay/promotions. Come down from your thrones and actually come see what's going on in these pharmacies.
