Pros

Flexible hours; convenient locations; no experience in retail or related fields needed to be interviewed or hired; they look to hire a very diverse staff of people in age, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc.; good employee discount on merchandise

Cons

Poor salary; poor benefits; disorganized management; internal theft a huge issue at my particular location and was never really addressed in a way that punished those responsible (always punished or somehow greatly inconvenienced entire staff); huge disconnect between cashiers, those on the floor, those in pharmacy, and those in photo, so customers would get bounced around to various employees for help.

Advice to Management

Don't promote people who are incompetent because you think it will improve retention. Even if you think folks are overqualified and might leave, give them the opportunity to grow in the position. They may leave, but they'll certainly quit if they're not stimulated.

    Pros

    i loved the customers and some of the people who work there are great people.

    Cons

    the company just became to much about the profit and between the 100 + calls techs had to make everyday to tell customers that they needed to fill there medication and all the computer calls that reminded the customers to fill medication it just felt like we were harrassing the customers instead of helping. i have had many customers yell at me for cvs calling to many times and have apoligized many times that we were unaable to deactivate the computer calls and they would have to call another # to fix it then again apoligized because they were now mad that they had to call it and use there time or minutes on there phone..and because of techs having to make all these calls it took up valuable time that we needed to fill our 300_400 scripts daily and help our customers the way that we used to. and i can speak for alot of the people there when i say we miss the great customer service we were once able to give to these wonderful people in this small town
