I worked at CVS Health full-time (more than an year)

Pros

If you want to get your foot in the door National Pharmacy business, this is the name to go for...they will train you, and you will learn if that's what you want.

Cons

They will work you for all the hours they can squeeze out and since you are salaried as a manager, there isn't much you can do about it. You get reviewed on so many different aspects continuously, it is difficult to get it all straight.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a class action suit out there regarding your abuse of employee hours, take a hint.

Former Employee - Pharmacy Technician, Special Projects in Cleveland, OH

I worked at CVS Health full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits and employee discount were great, strong support system amongst local store-level employees and management

    Cons

At the district and regional levels and above, the only focus is on metrics and dollars. The only opportunities for advancement above the store level require you to "pay your dues" and get stuck doing the jobs nobody else wants to do. Corporate bureaucracy runs rampant and makes the simplest tasks (like ordering a new vacuum cleaner) painfully inefficient.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As management loves to share scripted "best practices", design a clear training program for employees interested in continuing their career above the store level. Increase the support staff allowances to something above bare-bones.
