Pros

If you are experienced at inside ad sales you can make money here. You need to cold call and develop your own leads and accounts. Top consumer custom magazine publisher for major well respected National organizations.

Cons

CW Publishing Group is very autocratic and highly structured for a sales company. It is difficult for you to carve out your own niche and you need to fight for good accounts and leads. Management seems to reward bad behavior, as long you can sell. It is a very negative environment with inconsistent support from and training from management.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Very old school and autocratic. The company needs to enter the 21st century and diversify into new media and get some new strong long range projects to sell.

    Pros

    There has definitely been a shift in the company culture. There is more of an emphasis on hiring the right people, training them properly from the very beginning, and using positive reinforcement to get the best out of the sales staff. Plus, this is a great way to get your foot in the door in the world of sales - especially in terms of training.

    Cons

    So far, so good. Sales is never easy though - so you have to work hard. But there are people selling here.

    Keep doing what you're doing to make changes for the better.
