Communication sector is a good sector to work for and the company has a nimble footed management

Cons

The company makes frequent changes to executive management and as a result strategies do not get implemented. The company has very poor HR policies and practices. The company treats employees very poorly and does not present equal opportunities for all. The company does not listen to any third party opinion thereby taking wrong decisions

The frequent changes affect employee morale significantly.

    I worked at Cable & Wireless full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

    Lovely people to work with. I was generally left to my own devices as long as I achieved what I needed to.

    Cons

    No training offered or provided; they didn't have the budget. The company didn't understand customer service. Towards the end there was a culture of bullying. They have been taken over by Vodafone now and I understand the bullies have had to change their behaviour.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Your customers prefer honesty. Honesty towards customers, colleagues and to yourself would be a good start.
