I have been working at Cadence Health full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Cadence is stable and growing.

Cons

They outsourced their payroll and benefits and our benefits were erased. When you went to a doctor appointment, they system didn't recognize you reflected you as uninsured.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have people working in departments that aren't qualified to perform their duties.

I have been working at Cadence Health part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

They have generous benefits and insurance.

    Cons

With regards to office/ client phlebotomy: The account representatives who sell the lab/ phlebotomy services are clearly more concerned with profits for the expensive lab services than patients or the phlebotomists who work the accounts starting around $13.40 an hour. Once the account is sold the phlebotomist is on their own with no support from service reps. The expectation is to completely the account by doing the phlebotomy as well as all the billing work without complaint and keep the customer happy. If there are issues with an account the phlebotomists reputation and abilities are questioned. If you are serious about growing a career in lab work this is not the place to work. There is no development, very little training and no where to go for support. You are treated like a commodity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the extreme disconnect between the lab managers, phlebotomists and the sales staff with some communication, They are all at odds. Implement a training or mentoring program for new phlebotomists and stand by your employees. Treat the people who do this important work like professionals. I think overall cadence is a good place to work but this small faction of it is in extreme need of revamping. The values displayed did not represent what healthcare should be about.

I have been working at Cadence Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Financially strong organization committed to investing in technology and facilities to provide leading edge patient care; excellent clinical outcomes; rapidly expanding services and sites of care

    Cons

Comp and benefits are below national and regional averages for industry; rapidly changing priorities prevent traction on key initiatives; management focus on head count/numbers can be short sighted

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Re-evaluate comp and benefits; understand resources needed to achieve key initiatives and staff accordingly
