Good place to launch a career, not so good a place if you like your work to be valued.

Pros

Peers are great.
The work is interesting and challenging.
Experience at he Cadmus Group will look good on a resume.
Opportunity to work flex hours, or tele-commute.
Good benefit package.

Cons

Management are largely untrained in people management skills.
There is a billable hours requirement.
Work is not limited to the standard work week, it's a 24/7 proposition.
The environment is largely competitive making operational team work challenging.
The corporate environment is sterile.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mandatory "people management" training for those who are leading or managing work teams, with regular updates to the training.
Improve corporate communications so that employee owners are empowered to make decisions that will affect the bottom line.
Improve working relationships between peers by offering team building oportunities.

    I worked at Cadmus Group

    Pros

The work / life balance at Cadmus is great. You don't need to kill yourself working 70 hour weeks. Management also does not force project work onto you. You are expected to work certain tasks, but there isn't too much pressure to accept projects.

    Cons

Management, in general. The ability to move around and work in other service areas is zero. Senior level management is more concerned with their next proposal than seeing that you are happy in your work life. Most mid and junior level staffers look to leave here within their first year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to know your employees. Cadmus has high ambitions for a company, but invests little time in their junior staff development.
