I have been working at California Family Fitness

Pros

The facilites are wonderful. The variety of fitness classes and programming allows people of different interests and fitness levels a chance to experience fitness in their own way. The management is very customer service oriented.

Cons

The clubs are generally large and sometimes it is difficult to utilize the amenities afforded to employees. Equipment tends to dissappear from the club which makes it a challenge to design programming.

    Pros

Membership, networking and being able to meet people and to learn to work with different types of people. If your doing all tasks you are not watched.

    Cons

Communication from managers is bad, Not getting paid what your worth, false hopes in growing with the company, being let go for no reason, impossible to get time off.

    Pros

You will form friendships with members, and you will be come friends with your coworkers even faster. Everyone is great except corporate.

    Cons

Working in sales was a challenge because when you're starting they basically toss you to the wolves. Sink or swim.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be more beneficial to really train your staff. If they are struggling help them. Understand that money isn't everything and members are more important. Most of the managers I've work with talk about members as ways to get their next paycheck instead of actually wanting to help them meet their goals. When you have ideas they shun them, and force you to do what they want. If you give your employees a voice let them use it.
