A good place to work a little later in your career (10+ years)

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Folsom, CA

    Pros

    - The culture is laidback and friendly
    - A lot of opportunity to learn for a pro-active person
    - The "feel-good" factor of contributing to something that matters

    Cons

    - A not-for-profit, hence (sometimes) things don't happen as quickly as you would want.
    - Not very attractive for young employees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire younger folks too! Create some opportunities for younger people to get involved beyond interns (who mostly don't come back and are hence not a well-thought investment)

No clear strategy, unrealistic expectations, but compensation is reasonable

    Pros

Nice working environment and most of the staff are reasonable to work with.

    Cons

The senior management have no idea how to achieve their goals, and due to the indemic fear culture pervading the organization, the staff are unwilling to step up and provide honest input, and this has led to a very dysfunctional organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a good Quality VP from outside the industry, and empower him/her to radically overall the company culture by encouraging professional input and feedback, good and bad, so that the organization can develop out of the stagnant state that it has fallen into.
