I worked at California's Great America part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Interact with a lot of people so you build your communication skills

Cons

You get quite a few rude guests and as much as you want to talk back you have to keep calm and do the best to assist the guests with whatever they are upset about

Great group of people to work with. Good Culture.

    Cons

It can get pretty hot during the seasons of operation; especially in the kitchens.

Full shifts standing in the hot sun with low pay and no overtime. The Great America experience.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at California's Great America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As an employee you get free entrance to the park on your off days. Additionally, you are able to purchase discounted food from the employee cafeteria.

    Cons

Long hours with no sitting - sitting is cause for an infraction. Strict clocking in and clocking out policies. If you clock in early, even by a minute, the back office will issue an infraction. If you clock in too late, you will get infracted again for being late. Paranoia relating to money handing - prepare to have your cash apron audited at least once a day and be treated like a thief. Turnover - Over the course of 6 months, out of the group of people that I started work with, half of them had left for other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

The park is becoming run down, Renovations are desperately needed. Additionally, do something to fix the astronomical turnover that your staff have.
