Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Cambria Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Chance to work on some interesting public government projects in the transportation and health and human services industries.

Cons

Though there is a "non-hierarchical" style of managing and many areas remain the responsibility of the employee when it comes to offering input and ideas the power structure is opaque and top down. This makes for an unpleasant stifling experience. There was also a lack of training and a reluctance to offer constructive information to new employees.

Advice to Management

My advice would be to improve the lines of communication between employees and work to incorporate the creative contributions of temporary or at will employees. Treat all employees regardless of employment status like they are valued members and you will have better productivity returns.

I have been working at Cambria Solutions full-time

    Pros

Cambria is much more than just a reputable consulting firm that does excellent client/project work. The firm has grown significantly each year since it began over a decade ago and plans to continue expanding nationally. The company is flexible and always seeking new ideas. You get to be involved in learning and doing new things all the time, such as exploring and evaluating new tools/technologies, services, markets, and partners. You learn about business strategy and operations, and how to grow a business and make the best decisions possible. The people genuinely care about each other and Cambria invests heavily in its people and culture. The company sponsors a lot of functions and fun events each year for employees to grow and connect with one other, as well as give back to our various communities.

    Cons

The company is not without some growing pains as it continues to expand. The growth sometimes results in changes and new directions that people have to adjust to. The company is not perfect but usually willing to accept if something is not working well and make adjustments to improve.

    Advice to Management

Continue to promote flexibility and employee engagement and communications. Growth and change is not always easy but we have a creative and talented team that wants to be involved and make a difference.

    Pros

Great people that encourage growth, opportunity to learn new technology, incredible place to develop consulting skills, dynamic work environment.

    Cons

Limited structure; if you need well defined processes and clear line-of-sight authority, this may not be a good cultural match.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you are doing.
