I worked at Camp Dresser McKee

Pros

- Descent Pay
- Descent benefits
- Nice projects
- A lot of great resources to work with
- Well established brand name

Cons

- Extreme level of politics is played between the Technical Service Managers and Group Leaders
- When it comes to lay offs, your performance does not matter. If you are not in "the circle", you are going to go
- If you are not in Cambridge office (head office), your job is constantly in danger
- If you are really honest about reporting unethical things to HR, your name will be pushed up the black list
- They lay off a person (with great reviews) due to lack of work from one office, and hire a new one with exact same skill set in other office. Considering the fact that the person they laid off was from a division which anyways works like a satellite division from selected offices.
- As someone else pointed out, if you did not come from a great school (no matter how brilliant of an engineer you may be), you have no future in this company. It is all about MIT here.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what exactly the supporting divisions (other than WSD, WRD) are doing with their employees to retain them!

    Cons

    - As typical of many consultancy companies, you often work longer hours than you can bill
    - Found it difficult to move from one technical competency to another, should you show an interest in developing new skills
    - Need to find your own work - without too much help from the
    - Company, or at least the office culture, was very clique-y

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a little less conservative and venture into new businesses opportunities.

    Pros

Good benefits and can get to work using mass transit.

    Cons

No flexibility, limited career opportunities, very politically driven, internal division created among employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on your employees too! Client relationships are important, but so is employee satisfaction, especially when it involves a tenured employee who is highly liked by their peers and project managers.
