The Campaign is a relic of the past.

    Pros

The work-life balance is very good, in fact, if you are an assistant they expect very little of you.

    Cons

The pay is just awful but that is to make up for the fact that they overpay the old-timers. As well, if you are an assistant, expect to be treated as if you are mentally incompetent. The junior staff has little respect for assistants that have been here for years but upper management actually encourages this sort of behavior.

As an assistant, there will be no value seen by others here in what you do. Be prepared to be pushed aside or even just ignored and if you do come work here it will be easier on you if you remove yourself from any other belief other than this is a paycheck. You will not be valued, you are a body and nothing more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You have great people working for you and others that are not so great. There is a massive divide between the haves and haves not here and for an organization that preaches equality and freedoms you are far from that in your own operations. In fact, I believe that you are making Republicans look more socially liberal in regards to workforce equality.

It is a shame that you hire children and pay no attention to the administrative staff that has been here for years. You should listen to their advice and actually value them as people. Everyone on staff comes and goes as they please but you treat the administrative staff, as if they are East Berlin line workers in 1961.

Friendly Support Staff. Tons of Office Drama and Horrible Hierarchy Problems

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Secure Salary. If you can make friends with the support staff and join the ladies for lunch, you will have much better experience

    Cons

There is a huge divide between assistants and those, who they support. The management doesn't have a clue about its own processes and what is needed. They spend unnecessary monies on silly things, and then are stingy on others. It's hard to find the right support unless you seek and you can end up with the boss from hell very easily.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Not just listen to the office gossip, but do something about it. Don't retain directors just because of their name, you can achieve much more if you stopped caring about the hierarchy and started worried about what needs to be done. And everyone in the office knows about the internal drama and fighting with each other, so it would be better if you actually talked to each other and the top made decision clear. It's also obvious that some management resent their superiors.
