Pros

The senior leadership of Campbell soup is outstanding. Doug Connant is a great leader before he is a great CEO. The culture of integrity and "Winning in the workplace" that has been created under the current leadership is palpable at all employee levels. Since 2001 Campbell Soup has fought hard to do right by its products, its people and its community. It is a wonderful feeling and a daily source of motivation to be proud of the company you work for. This is a great place to work!

Cons

1. As with other organizations, some middle management at Campbell Soup apply a narrow focus to problem solving. We need holistic approaches to problem solving in order to innovate. 2. When I read the documentation for the review/evaluation process it is easy to tell how it fits into the culture of the Company. However, the annual and mid-term review process often feels like a bloated and cumbersome process. At best, it is difficult to apply to daily or even weekly activities. 3. Gallup survey: Some items in the survey such as "In the last seven days, I have received recognition or praise for doing good work" has a tendency to created phony or empty gestures from superiors. In addition, attempts at improving Gallup scores seem to be approached by simple mechanical processes that are applied to any group that has at least 5 supervised employees. From my perspective, some low scores are a result of variables from outside these smaller groups and can not be remedied at the lower levels

Stay true to the priciples of sustainable growth.

    Pros

    The people - my colleagues are the best! They always work their hardest despite knowing that it's not recognized or appreciated like it is at WHQ.

    Cons

    Management at the Cherry Hill location treats subordinates like slave labor. If you make a mistake, they are all over you. Praise is hard to come by.

    Advice to Management

    Take a long hard look at the management team at the Cherry Hill location. There's no way Doug Conant would approve of the treatment the employees receive by management. It borderlines on abusive. Intimidation is the rule.

    Pros

    it is a good company for job security because it is a family styled company that plays buddy system, making sure you please your boss and eat out with him/her few times a week and you will be fine, this company has a high tolerance to accept failures !! it's good for people looking for paycheck twice a month but take no risk suggesting new ideas and initiatives for the benefit of the company's future.

    Cons

    management promote people close to to them but not to people far away from them even they can greatly benefiting the company, Most middle management are not entirely honest in the company and they care more about their persoanl agenda than the company. They generally do not see far ahead in business and have very limited foreign experience. Senior management relies too much on middle management and have caused many failures in business projects. effiiciency of this company is very low; it is common to see people/ groups covering up mistakes or failures,

    Advice to Management

    eliminating family members or friends in the company and focus on using others with applicable skills that can bring in immediate results, the key is to hire the right and the very best person for job and not the closest friend - it's easy to say but very seldom done in this company,
