I have been working at Campus Living Centres part-time (less than an year)

Pros

The coworkers
The comprehensive training in things like SafeTALK, LGBTQ matters, CPI, fire safety, WHMIS, etc.
Dealing with sensitive matters like sexual abuse and suicide (You could really make a difference in someone's life)

Cons

Always being on-call
Having to deal with idiot residents who behave like children instead of college students
Dealing with sensitive matters like sexual abuse and suicide (After a while, depending on what you're like, this could wear you down emotionally, psychologically)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Personally, my manager has an open door policy and doesn't keep anything from us if we ask, so communication is good there. I guess I'd say keep it up.

I have been working at Campus Living Centres full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

I like working here because I'm in a position of respect, and I am responsible for many things. The pay is satisfactory, I love building relationships with the students.

    Cons

No training is provided, managment is typically annoyed when you ask for direction, my voice doesn't get heard by management, and holds no weight. I have self trained in my position, and find that in many cases I'm picking up the slack from management not completing their tasks.
