I have been working at Canada Post full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Supportive, on-going training, great growth opportunity, excellent benefits.

Cons

The head office building is located in a spot that isn't very central, so you are a little isolated in terms of places to go to during lunch/breaks etc.

I have been working at Canada Post full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

-rewarding in the sense of being able to assist in mail delivery
    - flex hours / good worklife balance
    - relaxed work culture
    - change can happen quickly once everyone is on board
    - lots of different areas to explore
    - very hands on
    - great health benefits and pension

    Cons

    - everyone seems to keep to themselves and their own role, very few have initiative
    - working with union employees
    - providing union dues as a professional
    - growth opportunity is limited and managers are overworked and carry too much weight of daily tasks rather than leading
    - working hard might be rewarding, but will not earn you a promotion
    - still an old boys club and only through connections within the company , can you get anywhere
    - needs to hire students to help with day to day support functions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to appreciate and reward employees more for doing a good job; be more transparent about issues and projects (this is improving); needs more of a team based workplace (team buildling, social events etc); needs to hire more students into the department (I am working in)

I have been working at Canada Post full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

What benefits currently remain are good but who knows how much longer that will last. The Monday to Friday schedule is also good. Still have a strong camaraderie between workers and will do their best to help each other out.

    Cons

Walks are too long. Minimum 10kms every day. Management are abusive and lazy. They do not support the operation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If your goal is to kill the post office then you are doing a bang up job.
