    Pros

Lots of responsibility and technical challenges. Learned a lot. Other operators were willing to help/answer questions if needed. Solved real problems. Days went by fast, there was always something to do.

    Cons

Remote location--not for everybody. Long hours and on call during shift.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More structured training during first shift or two

    I worked at Canadian Natural

    Pros

The Horizon site is an impressive construction and there are a few engineers truly trying to improve and maintain the plant.

    Cons

There is a huge sense of office politics within the department. People in senior and management roles were often disrespectful of people in lower positions and as such, many projects were done carefree in an effort to appease them.
