Terrible hours (very few)

I worked at Canadian Tire part-time (less than an year)

Pros

Dealing with the public is always fun
Work goes by quickly
Nice to have a job at all
Job relatively simply

Cons

Felt exploited as was put on 5 hour shifts without a break and never more hours than that so my breaks never had to be paid
Standing for 5 hours straight
Had a very negative and short-tempered manager
Was given very few hours in a week despite being entirely free, partly so I never had to be paid benefits because I could never be full-time with those hours (similar situation all around the company)
Employees that had worked there for years were looking for other jobs because their hours were being cut down

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire people and give others more hours and more benefits to encourage employee loyalty
Bring back motivational bonuses
Ensure group ideas sessions happen more often and changes are actually implemented

    Pros

    Great Company and benefits, Room for advancement. Its smart to continually switch up jobs every 2-3 years. Focus on training in various roles throughout the company.

    Cons

    Departments and jobs change constantly. If you see this coming or sense it look for another role internally.
