    I have been working at Canon Solutions America full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Cant think of any Canon has.

    Cons

    Poor management. Terrible wages. below average pay for service techs. Management gives reviews and pay increases based on service metrics developed years ago when copiers were analog and techs had assigned territories. Now, techs follow other lazy techs who play the system to keep their metrics good. ie,,,1st time fix,inc. calls, parts cost etc.They dont take in account travel time which can be 5 hours daily, not trained on specific models,no parts in carstock because youre out of your territory servicing models that you may not have in car stock. SERVICE NEEDS TO START A UNION TO SUPPORT US.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    When reviews and evaluations are done, take in to account the service technicians level of training,models serviced(since Canon doesnt segment),miles and time traveled and out of techs area helping and following other lazy techs and then the original tech gets 1st time fix and the following tech gets the incomplete call,excess service etc.

    I have been working at Canon Solutions America full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    There is a base salary for sales reps to keep you afloat while you are learning. The product line is very strong and has some great features.

    Cons

    There are no leads provided. You are expected to create instant sales opportunities from cold calls. The CRM system is a joke. There is no VPN so sales reps have to drive long distances back to the office just to enter call notes and look up critical customer and prospect info. IT help is non-existent. You will have more than one boss breathing down your neck, and they expect old-school tactics to work while the competitors have evolved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Change the entire business model. Cold calling does not work. Selling at the highest price does not work. More opportunities for customers and prospects to engage with the product line via trade shows, informal events.
