Pros

Good pay, great coworkers, satisfying work, great company direction, and room for personal growth. I started as a technician in the field and now work in the corporate office testing hardware and software.

Cons

I have a great job, but sometimes it feels like I am being pulled in too many directions. We are a project management style company. May have more than one boss and you may be on more than one project. This is fine if you are a good communicator as long as you tell the project managers you are over allocated they will do their best to use other resources.

Advice to Management

Get requirements finalized before you build the product stop adding requirements as you go.

    Pros

    Great technology and products allow this company to stand on the forefront of oilfield technology and compete with the biggest names in the business

    Cons

    I'm a current shift lead for Rigline and see firsthand the abuses of this system on a daily basis. If your ever in doubt as far as which of these reviews to believe, its relatively simple to ascertain the truth; simply call the company and ask for Rigline Support, (their number is listed) then ask the random person who answers just 3 simple questions: do they like their job, do they have competent management, and would they recommend this job to a loved one.  Do this and you will have your answer.  The new "big corporation" style of governance over this company has gutted it from top to bottom. This erosion has been cultivated for years by of layers of corruption from people in power protecting other people in power. This contagion was brought into the body of the company by new management who like any good parasite infecting a host, spreads throughout the entire body, just as it has spread throughout all departments of this company. HR here is useless and just as corrupt, and turns a blind eye to the subjective enforcement of Nabors policy to protect allies and punish enemies at will, within the corporate hierarchy. Do not expect unilateral enforcement of the any policies, as to do so would prove foolhardy and an exercise in futility. Considering the disintegration of the retention rate and voluntary rate of attrition ever on the rise, these truths above become self-evidencing.  When the morale falls through the floor it causes the retention rates to drop dramatically and when that happens you get a data-loss and loss of quality.  This loss of information occurs because each cycle of new employees stays with the company for a shorter time than the people they replaced, thereby never absorbing the full knowledge of their predecessors, much less passing that info forward to the next gen being trained up to replace them.  what happens then is a regression, or data-loss. Also beware of the  "Bait and switch" tactics of the position and duties promised to the interviewee versus their actual job duties which as many find out after being hired on, are diametrically opposed If you do happen to make enough complaints to gain the attention of HR, they will white-wash everything with a meeting between your entire department and a corporate psychologist who has an uncanny ability to cleverly and deceptively rebrand all the misgivings that you and your cohorts have just exposed, and makes all persons in the department take an equal-parts stake-of-ownership in why management has been treating you all so badly.  An intelligent soothsayer who is able to take what your saying, repackage it, and sell it back to you; that there is some inherent flaw in the 50 people in the department causing the management to behave poorly.

    Advice to Management

    I know there are a few good managers left here that are not "bought and owned" by the current regime, and to them I would urge, press for an internal audit by the parent company or an external audit by a 3rd party arbitrator.  In fact I would urge this to any employee reading this post.  If enough people came forward about this and pushed for it, the truth would come to light that HR has been white-washing this all along, and they cannot keep running pass-interference for bad management indefinitely.  We're in a tough economy but I'd also suggest that anyone who can do so, consult with legal counsel to explore options.

    Pros

    Money can be made if you sacrifice your family and social life and work in excess of 120 hours per pay period. Possibility for advancement is available if you don't mind being treated less than humanely and unprofessionally. Drug testing is sparse if you're into that sort of thing.

    Cons

    Management will bold faced Lie to you. Especially RIGLINE Managers. HR is nonexistent when it comes to helping resolve issues with your management. Misogyny present throughout the company and even if you have complaints issued with HR it's swept under the rug once the complainee is fired. Management is so out of touch with what employees needs as long as they can still get paid for what little they have to do. Buddy System is everywhere in Management. Zero anonymity when it comes to HR complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Hiring Qualified managers instead of friends would go a long way to show how the company could turn around it's current level of Deplorable Morale. Especially in the circus that is RIGLINE24/7.
